Their review:

Alternately sweet and sinister, 46bliss blend bubbling dance beats with gauzy synths and ethereal vocals to make gleaming pop for the 21st Century. Their strength is in the paired vocals of David Cooper and Clare Venoit, the former rough and reedy, the later cool and elegant. "Three Days to Live" recalls the eerier moments in the Depeche Mode catalog, with pinpricks of synth and a barely-there beat; "Desire Give Way" is anchored in a fat bass synth and ricochet rhythm and "Inner Sensation" pitches and rolls like the ocean.

46bliss remix of Mahalia Jackson singing Silent Night released on 'Christmas Remixed 2' - 11/02/2005

Six Degrees Records has released "Christmas Remixed 2", which contains the 46bliss remix of Mahalia Jackson singing 'Silent Night'. Here's what the Six Degrees website has to say: 'You might well wonder what anyone could possibly do to improve a Mahalia Jackson recording of "Silent Night." 46Bliss closes the album by demonstrating that it's not only possible to make Mahalia funky but to do so while leaving the unaffected reverence of her original performance intact. On this remix, the drums strut in an almost martial manner, and echo is added to Mahalia's voice and that of her backing choir in a manner that evokes dubwise reggae in its sense of spirituality and mystical wonder. It's a fitting end to what is sure to be one of the highlight releases of the 2005 holiday season.'

46bliss on the front page of the Washington Post Nov. 6 2004! - 11/20/2004

The Washington Post ran a front-page article about a new cateogory of holiday CD: Christmas Remixes. 46bliss's remix of Mahalia Jackson singing 'Silent Night' was featured prominently in the article, which you can read here. The funny thing is that, though the article was syndicated to newspapers across the US (we counted around 10 using Google), we didn't know about it for six weeks!
